🛠️ Securing Certified Electrical Contractors in Kumasi
Finding the right electrical contractor in Kumasi, the Garden City, is an essential step for any construction or renovation project. With the city’s continuous growth, prioritizing certification, safety, and quality ensures your investment is protected and your property is legally compliant. The key differentiator for reliable service in Ghana is validation from the Energy Commission (EC).
The Importance of Certification in Kumas
In Kumasi, as in all of Ghana, electrical installations must adhere to the regulations set by the Energy Commission (EC). The EC certifies qualified individuals as Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals (CEWP).
- Safety Assurance: Certification confirms that the contractor has been trained and tested on the national wiring standards, significantly reducing the risk of electrical faults, fires, and electrocution.
- Utility Connection: The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will only connect a new or upgraded installation to the national grid after it has been inspected and certified by an EC-certified inspector (CEWI). Hiring an uncertified contractor will ultimately lead to delays and extra costs to correct non-compliant work.
- Finding Certified Contractors: The most reliable way to find certified professionals in Kumasi is to consult the Ashanti Regional Register of Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals, which is publicly available on the Energy Commission’s official website.
